Listen to this episode from Cutting Class on Spotify. Colby Parker Jr. Pt 2. The editor of Ant-Man, Friday Night Lights, Patriot's Day, Deepwater Horizon, Hancock and the pilots for The Leftovers and Ballers talks more music, Marvel, Pete Berg and cutting action with heart.

Part 2 of 2 with Colby Parker Jr., ACE, a Los Angeles-based feature editor known for his fast-paced, high-adrenaline work on most Pete Berg directed films including Friday Night Lights, Deepwater Horizon, The Kingdom, Patriot’s Day, Battleship, Mile 22, Hancock and the pilots for the HBO shows Ballers and the Leftovers. Colby was also recently brought into the Marvel Cinematic Universe as co-editor of Ant-Man. And, as you can see from the title, is a distinguished member of the American Cinema Editors, which we discuss here in pt 2, and which I am keeping here as A.C.E. to Colby’s wishes.

Some of the topics covered in part two:

- Sacrificing a great shot for the story

- Being on set for Friday Night Lights

- Finding the emotion in a coin toss

- Giving explosions in the sky their big break

- Do you have to play an instrument to make it today?

- Meeting salty Hollywood heroes
